Review on BASSTOP Translucent DIY Replacement Housing Shell Case for NS NX Switch Console - Console-Jungle Green by Jon Thompson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nothing for characters who don't have a lot of dexterity.

If you are a tank or mage character you may not have the required passive skills and basic agility to perform this grenade replacement, either change the spec or find another maxed player or near maximum mobility. The flex cables, particularly the one connected to the right stick's inner sleeve, require some finesse as they are quite tiny and tight in places. Also, make sure you have the right gear before starting this quest. Low-level screwdriver sets rip off your screw, and the game world only spawns screws once in your original Joy-Con shell, so once they're gone, they're gone. For any player taking on this type of quest, I highly recommend investing in ifixitkit. (The 64-bit set has the triangular screwdrivers you need for Nintendo consoles. Seriously, anyone who does this should have this set or an equivalent, they had a price drop recently so it's for those who Taking things apart, easy. .) Bad screwdrivers and misuse will knock the screws off. You'll have to put in a reasonable amount of effort as the new shell doesn't have pre-drilled holes and they're not really self-tapping screws. As many other reviewers have pointed out, there are issues with molding the correct Joy-Con next to the + button. Another user uploaded a review image where the problem area is outlined in red and their joystick is light green. So just look for that image in the customer images and then grind/sand that area until it fits right. I cannot recommend this as a *product* for casting problems. But as a *project* I can recommend it. Clean exterior surfaces don't really look good unless they're sanded down first, and the case needs some modification before it fits properly. However, you must have reasonable expectations. After all, this is an unofficial cast of a product that hasn't even been released yet. While the sculpting isn't perfect, I really have to say I'm impressed, all things considered. Joy-Con cases have some pretty specific tolerances, and it's truly amazing that this aftermarket product showed up so quickly and with just *one* major flaw. If this is your first time changing the Nintendo skin I would start with a GameBoy or something as there are far fewer errors.
