We live on the Gulf Coast and we deal with hurricanes almost half of the year. A must in case of power failure! Our area was without power for several weeks last year after Hurricane Sally and I wish I had bought it sooner. It's a good compact size. Not too big or bulky. If necessary, I can switch from rechargeable batteries, conventional batteries, solar power or a crank! The radio has a good strong signal. Everything will be fine. The LEDs are bright. It also has a very loud SOS signal, which would be useful in certain situations.
