This stand is very durable. I find it can be a bit unstable if you don't position your bike properly. However, if you can find that middle ground, great. The stand itself is made from very strong materials and is strong enough to hold my MTB which is around 31lbs. Once it's on the stand and balanced, you can pedal and it will remain stable. I always clamp the seatpost, not the top tube. Sometimes I also clamp the seatpost vertically so the wheels are tilted down, and sometimes I clamp the seatpost at a back angle so the wheels are level, depending on the task I can do. Either way, as long as you make sure the bike's weight is properly balanced over your feet, it's stable and dependable for work. However, I had an issue with breakage on my very first use. It's an odd breakdown, but a breakdown nonetheless. The upper clamp of the pipe extension flew out. The inner wall of the clamp itself split open when I tightened the thumbscrew. The broken off part acts as a back pressure to the thumbscrew and allows tightening of the clamp on the extension tube, allowing you to raise or lower the bike. Once it broke I couldn't tighten that clamp which meant I couldn't lift the top extension to get the bike off the ground. I could have changed the position of the nut and bolt to get the same clamping effect, but honestly I thought that due to the burnt out part, the clamp itself was compromised and the fault could have come from somewhere else. However, I took some photos (also provided in this review) and emailed them to customer service. I received an immediate response from Feedback Sports. They wanted proof of purchase and the serial number of my device. I gave them this information and they immediately sent me a new cocking mechanism and also sent me a link for the replacement. It actually came 2 days before I was given the ETA. All in all I am very satisfied with my purchase. This is a solid, well built bike rack and the customer service is fantastic. Maybe I had a bad brace from the start because it was definitely a weird break, even the feedback rep said so. They jumped straight to the warranty and got it right.
