Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Enhance Engine Cooling with Mr. Gasket 2557 O-Ring Style Water Neck for Chevy Engines by Chris Rigsby

Cheap last resort for SBC

Good idea to add a temp sensor but damn what a pain on a '67 327. Cheap is what you get. There seemed to be gravity in the packaging and it was found that half the weight is from the oversized plastic packaging plus 2 small screws and an o-ring fooling you. You can swear it's not even a saucepan, it's some kind of chromed plastic. It's very light and seems like you're going to break it if you put threads/screws on it. Was this thing at least designed by real pre-internet American descendants who created the machines, systems, MODEL WORLD this thing applies to (ie before the mass dilution with torrents of envious American emulators in the post-internet era)? All sizes are off. The twist of the neck is not the same as the drain and therefore interferes with the oil filler neck and you cannot put a hose on it. You need to alter or knead the wall of the filler neck with a hammer to make room for the hose. The supplied screws look like nickel-plated bellows. and the same length, not the same as stock with short and long. and one of them comes up to the stock header, so you have to put shims in to fill the gap to tighten it. Ghetto. The o-ring is barely larger than the level of the bottom surface, so you'll need a fairly smooth o-ring surface for assembly. Pennies more for a slightly thicker o-ring would inspire more confidence, although it won't leak when tightened as it's safe with other issues. There is no eyelet hole for the standard Rochester accelerator return spring, so you will need to purchase a different mount for it. The sensor hole is not offset and faces directly to the inside of the thermostat so any length of sensor will butt against the top of the thermostat inside. You'll have to play with thread sealants and excess Teflon tape to minimize sensor depth. late but what can we do? we are at the mercy of these globalist financiers and their armies of mindless, pathetic and flawed Western culture emulators, university memorators and "MBAs" who impose endless growth economy, invented problems to create an economy, planned obsolescence and the like.

Pros
  • Specially designed for big and small block Chevys
Cons
  • I won't say anything
