Excellent tools and service

Five stars because the value of these tools is absolutely worth it. I had a problem with the order, but Schaaf Tools solves it very quickly. However, excellent customer service is necessary but not sufficient to make you choose these tools. Below I will explain why they are a good choice. The instruments themselves are great. Of course, like any quality tool (with the possible exception of arrow tools), they must be sharpened and honed to the carver's wishes. I've lined up a few to see how they fare and I've been very pleased with how well they've used and held up. I was most impressed by the large format indentations. The angles were spot on for the larger, smaller kerfs that I may resharpen at a shallower angle, but that's my personal preference as I carve white pine (I live in the Jersey Pinelands) and shallower angles seem to work better with this tree . The grips are good, I think it's ash. They look and feel just like my arrow notches. The reamer (notch radius) matches my arrow which is a big plus as they work well with my other tools. If I were to give a new piece of advice to a carver, I would buy this set and an arrow notch. The reason for this is that an arrow chisel shows you what a professionally sharpened and conditioned chisel looks like and is the perfect reference when setting up your sheeps. I'm hoping Schaaf will come out with mic and extra large kits so I can get them too. Great job Create! I uploaded a photo of an acanthus leaf that I carved using several Schaaf tools (plus Pfeil's micro-V tool).
