Review on Saris Solo Trunk Mounted Black by John Hall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High performance, easy installation, good price

Purchased for use in a 2014 Toyota Corolla. Nothing to design as they are one-piece straps. My car wasn't listed as tested compatible on the Saris website, but it fits well and doesn't wobble or wobble after driving 3 speed bumps, city and highway for 30 minutes to the trail and 30 minutes back. another residential road route that includes >3 additional speed bumps followed by the first 3 speed bumps to park at home. It takes me 2-3 minutes to assemble/disassemble (rubber feet on side and top of trunk, tighten 2 straps on top of trunk and 2 straps on bottom opening of trunk). It takes 5-10 minutes to attach and remove the bike (two straps to tighten at the top, I always use a third strap that attaches over the vertical bar that holds the bike seat to prevent wobble and I have an adjustable one separately Rope bought for $4 with clips on the ends to thread it through the front and rear wheels to prevent wheelspin which prevents pedaling and protects my trunk from scratches when the pedals are in the built in groove of the trunk k be placed where they do not touch the car). The only scratch damage I've had so far has been the result of scuffing the pedal against the trunk when placing the bike on the rack, not the placement/operation of the rack on the road. My mistake. Overall, I'm very happy with the performance of the product on several trips (the above is just an example, but I've been using it around town for several weeks). Aesthetically pleasing, a guy from the warehouse accidentally complimented it in the parking lot. I chose this brand on a friend's recommendation after years of experience with one of two Saris bike racks that have survived several hours of freeway driving across the US perfectly. Quality and good price compared to many others I considered. I would already recommend this product to friends.
