I bought a set of "Reese" upgrades from Walmart last year and have gradually replaced older models with these over time. Now I use four of these per quad in my trailer for a total of three. I tighten them to compress the suspension a little, park the ATV, and apply the brakes. No movement, no extra straps to tie, loading and unloading is now a breeze. I never leave them in the trailer (I don't think rain or snow are bad for them) or overtighten them. When I snap them in, I leave the final adjustment knob "up a notch" from horizontal to lock it in place (flat or "neutral" position lets it spin freely = bad). To release I press the red button. If the red button happens to be hard to press (usually when someone "helps" me load and pull them), I simply pull the quad down to compress the suspension a little, then give it a light push the button.
