Great idea, below average product functionality

Love the payoff, it's a huge improvement for this type of product. The problem is in the mechanism, out of 8 that I have, 2 are out of order. The release will not actuate when the button and lever are pressed when the belt is under load. You must be able to let go of the load to unbuckle the strap, which is not always possible. The 2 that failed has the release sticking and requiring a screwdriver to be inserted into the ratchet to open the lock. I assume that the others will also fail. I keep…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Very expensive

Significantly faster than conventional ratchet straps.

I bought a set of "Reese" upgrades from Walmart last year and have gradually replaced older models with these over time. Now I use four of these per quad in my trailer for a total of three. I tighten them to compress the suspension a little, park the ATV, and apply the brakes. No movement, no extra straps to tie, loading and unloading is now a breeze. I never leave them in the trailer (I don't think rain or snow are bad for them) or overtighten them. When I snap them in, I leave the final…

Pros
  • Hands-free

  • Nothing

great when they work but eventually they fail

good so 1 i really love them. IF they work. I did it in 1/4 the time it takes my friends to buckle theirs. but. BUT. There are 2 scenarios where they don't work. The first and secondary. sometimes they get blocked. To release them, you usually press the red button and then lower the entire handle. Well, sometimes, no matter how hard you squeeze (sometimes slapping works), it won't disengage. You need to insert a screwdriver on one side and pry up the striker plate. annoying, but not the end of…

Pros
  • durable surface
Cons
  • have been damaged
