I did a lot of research before buying a new burr grinder after deciding it was time to upgrade the Cuisinart I've had for over 10 years (with no problems). So I bought Virtuoso Baratz. It died in less than 3 weeks if only used once a day. In addition, I was not satisfied with the scaling of the coffee grinder. It's measured in time, not cups. So he went back to the drawing board. I waited 3 months before posting a review on the Capresso, mainly because I wanted to make sure it didn't die on me either. What is not. It's a very quiet car, at least compared to my old Cuisinart, and about as much as the Baratza. Also, the dial is measured in cups and is very accurate using my old measuring spoon from my Cuisinart machine. I've only used it to grind espresso (stovetop) and drip coffee maker (Bunn). It's all ok. TO UPDATE. The timer is broken. It still crunches, but I have to take my time to turn it off. I went back to my old noisy Cuisinart grinder.
