This is a good product for splicing NM cables for laying in wall or ceiling voids so you don't have to open the junction box. It's a little tricky to properly align the wires to the correct length, so I recommend cutting the wires a little longer and adjusting afterwards. Don't turn around while trying to attach the clear cover - provide screws to attach the kit to the studs rather than nailing. Too bad I didn't find this kit when I added a second floor to my house. I have a lot of 1 and 2 node junction boxes in the new addition for all those wires that the framers randomly cut. My electrician never mentioned this as an option. This just goes to show that professional traders may not have all the answers.
