Not As Advertised - my new review

I am a spin instructor and was looking for a budget bike to practice on at home. The bike is advertised as magnetic resistance but it is not. It uses friction. That means there is a felt pad that rests on the flywheel and controlled by a screw knob to create drag/resistance. The pad will ultimately wear and need to be replaced. It is a bit noisy, squeaks, at a heavier resistance settings due to the friction. Disappointing when you think you are ordering one thing and received another.Incredibly easy to assemble and the tools are included. Literally took me 30 mins from start to finish. While not what I thought I was getting, the bike will do. I am a male, 6'1" tall and weight 195. I am able to stand or sit on the bike and maintain proper form. In my opinion the frame will wear quickly the way I am using it but after two HIIT sessions is holding up well. I am reluctant to pull on the handlebars too much because there is some movement at the higher setting for my height.Im not a fan of the resistance knob. It takes a quite a bit of adjusting to go from a light load to a moderate load but goes from moderate to heavy quickly with very little adjusting. Adjusting the load while pedaling the wheel will stop suddenly. Again, at the heavier load there is a squeak because of the felt pad and the flywheel does not turn smoothly. The display is cheap and does not give an indication of the resistance level, so you will be riding at perceived exertion. For the average rider not looking to change the training variable this will not matter. The seat is comfortable. Also noteworthy, the pedals do not have clips. I assume you can change them out to wear with bike cleats but pay attention to the specifications. Without the clips the cages are much appreciated.Im not sure what the overall weight of the bike is but it is very easy to move around. I have mine in a small guest room and the wheels at the front work well to move it around with little effort.Note, Im comparing this to the bike I ride in my classes. It is a very decent option for the price and for most people needing an at home fitness option. I am mostly disgruntled that it was advertised incorrectly but also wanted to point out a couple of things that I wished I had noticed before purchasing.
