Review on 📚 Revolutionize Learning with the LeapFrog LeapStart Interactive Learning System by Christopher Scales

I'm tech savvy so I wasn't put off by other reviewers' complaints that downloading books onto the device was painful. It wasn't that difficult if you know how to download software or have recorded your own music on an MP3 player before. But my sister is not tech savvy so it was decided that aunt would preload all the books and then send the device + books to my nephew in working condition. . . .I bought 12 books for my nephew to use this fancy device and when uploading files to LeapStart 3D I could see a status bar saying the device was low on memory. I only had room for 11 - and that was after deleting the lousy sample book, which is actually not a book at all - so I decided to cancel my order for the 12th book which hadn't shipped yet. LeapStart 3D works. I've checked every book installed and they all work. Each page has sound, and the books have age-appropriate puns. The animations are short and only about every third page, so it's not like putting your kid in front of the TV at all --- but are those few animations worth the extra cost? All in all I paid about $100 for this unit + 11 books we keep and those 11 books is the total mileage we can get from it because the storage is full and the tech support aunt is out of the state (which reminds me that the cost figure above doesn't include sending the "finished product" to my sister because she was intimidated by the technology). In theory, LeapStart is great, but I don't think the animated 3D version of LeapStart is worth the cost if you don't have enough build memory. your child's library. I think a cheaper non-animated version that has sound only and comes with 2 real books instead of 1 example would be much cheaper (don't know how many books LeapStart can hold).
