This is the first of two Android head units I've tried to install on my 2009 GTI and they both had the same problem. The entire main unit heats up to 120°C/248°F (tested with my FLIR One thermal imaging camera with a maximum temperature of 120°C/248°F). Once it overheats, it's a ticking time bomb. Touching the screen or reversing the vehicle locks the head unit until it turns off and gets stuck in a boot loop until it cools down (about 10 minutes with the car off). You will notice that the maximum volume halves with no difference in volume from level 15 to level 30. I really like the idea of having an Android head unit. They are ideal for car journeys under 30 minutes. but once it reaches that temperature threshold, they fail miserably. This thing is only good for short trips.
