Review on πŸ§‚ Premium Stainless Steel Salt and Pepper Grinder Set of 2 with Modern Thumb Push Button Grinder, for Black Pepper, Sea Salt and Himalayan Salt, With Stand - Grind Gourmet by Dana Mahendra

I know they come highly recommended by other reviewers and those coming from cheaper fakes.

Don't get carried away by the industrial design! I know they come highly recommended by other reviewers and those coming off cheaper knockoffs (which have more plastic parts compared to well-made ones), but first your thumb does all the work of grinding the salt or pepper. any downward pressure. Think about it for a second. It's not your wrist with all its muscles spinning a top that has a lot of leverage to help you. And it's not a complicated mechanism that grinds gears when a button is pushed, it's a simple knurled stick connected to a button that pushes salt and pepper through a hole in the bottom, crushing them as you go. This might sound good in theory, until you realize you have to press hard, it's not the same as flicking a pen! You'll also need to press down quite a bit as there are many movements to get any appreciable amount out of this shredding process. On the plus side, this means only a small portion comes out each time, so you can easily adjust how much you add to your meal. However, if you cook like me and keep them close to the stove, chances are your big toe will start to hurt after just a few squeezes. Also, they are heavy, not light. If I gave you a piece of stainless steel, that's what it's all about. Finally, for basic salt and pepper shakers, they are very expensive. They don't contain much salt or pepper and are difficult to fill as the holes are small and shallow. I honestly couldn't stand her after two weeks and without telling my girlfriend she came to the same conclusion. Ikea has great alternatives that have a handy rotating top, are lightweight, are way more ergonomic, last way longer, and cost $6 each. There is no pipe dream in my book.
