Is the number you get accurate? I dunno, but it's consistent, which is good enough for me.
A spoke broke and I wanted to replace the broken spokes myself. I took readings from several spokes to get an average and then tightened a new spoke to the same value. The wheel needs to be adjusted but it allows me to get back on the road by the time I get to the bike shop. I've read other reviews on similar items about the device getting stuck and not reading consistently. I don't have a problem with that.
