Review on Refresh Replacement Filter R17186 Craftsman by Logan Tripp

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Will not fit without modification.

If the filter had soft rubber flanges on both ends it would be ideal. However, one end has a hard plastic cap that prevents the use of a wing nut. I saw another customer clip the edge of the hard plastic to thread a nut. I went the other way as the cap and nut fitted the end of the soft flange perfectly. The hard end is easy to remove completely, just pushing it away from the inside is enough. This inner plastic ring is still too big for the vacuum cleaner, so it needs to be reduced. I traced the outline of the cap onto plastic and cut it out with a dremel. I think my rotozip would work better. Then, with no soft flange to seal the vacuum completely, I rolled out some plumbing for the gasket. That works great. I have a lot of thread for mother now. I hope that the manufacturer will consider my suggestion in the future. Soft flange end on both ends of the filter.

Pros
  • Catches sawdust, wood shavings and car dirt without clogging.
Cons
  • High Price
