Review on 5 Qt/L or 6 Qt/L Instant Pot Tempered Glass Lid with Stainless Steel Rim - Enhanced for SEO by Robert Bigelow

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This is a good product BUT SEVERAL USES (see below)

So this review is difficult because I bought this product thinking I would use it for either slow cooking or covering our food, while she is sitting. Neither do I. But this product is well made and fits. It also has a small vapor vent in the lid that releases just enough vapor so it doesn't bounce off vapor buildup. SLOW COOKING (NO): My IP is not very good at slow cooking. In fact, slow cooking is so slow that it probably takes about twice as long as using a slow cooker (which I got rid of because of the IP). But that's not a problem because I don't cook slowly anymore. I've done this twice since I bought the intellectual property, which was nine months ago, because slow cooking is there for people to defrost and plan ahead. Not this gal. CLOSE IP WHILE WAITING (NONE): I use a regular snap-on lid for this because it retains heat so well. If you want the food to stay hot while you wait, use a regular lid. It's better insulated and more airtight, so it's better at keeping your food warm. I never use a tempered glass lid to cover food while waiting for food. FEED COVER INSERT (YES): I see this as use when you take out the liner and feed from the liner or just set it aside. and want to cover it. But I've never used it like that. COVER WHILE STEAMING (YES): I see this as use when you need to sauté in your IP for a while or keep something covered while keeping it warm in the Instant Pot (I've used it ALMOST like this, I've used the sauté after Defrosting turned back on a spaghetti sauce I had made previously and thought of covering it while I boiled some water, but that was poor use because I didn't want the water back in the pan, I wanted it to evaporate).

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
