Review on Trex Tiki FastenMaster FMTR3-212 Trapease Composite by Hector Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not cheap, but they work really well in Trex decking.

I tried different colored countersunk screws that were said to be great for composite decking. They were really terrible, they extruded a big cone of the top layer of tex which formed a crater when "cut off". Terrible looks Then I got these - problem solved - no craters just a nice little screw head that easily countersunk flush with my Dewalt brushless impact driver. And the supplied screwdriver bits do not slip out when screwing. Requires a fairly high launch. Pressure to cut through the Trex top cover, but after that the feed is fine. I had the threads cut out of one of them because the deck board didn't fit perfectly on the deck stringer. I just put another one next to it - barely noticeable. This is the only way to craft a Trex. I also like the spacer for the lid screws, although I use quarter-inch machine screws for the recommended 1/4-inch spacing.
