It won't even heat a small room.

Of course, it generates heat. If you sit more than a foot away even though you don't feel it. They are very small and the power is very low. I would not recommend it for heating a small space. It won't work well for that at all. When you want to move your foot away from you and feel direct heat. It can be good for that for a short time.
