My old pepper mill which is over 20 years old broke so I bought this one as it was the same size and style as my old one. I bought it, washed it, put peppercorns in it and turned it. Good flour and I was happy. When it came time to use it during cooking, I made two turns and it stopped grinding. I tried everything to make it work but finally gave up. Then I decided to remove the peppercorns and just use a mortar and pestle and the lid wouldn't unscrew. So now I have an abandoned pepper mill that I can't open to get the peppercorns. I ended up having to remove the grinder in the lid to shake out the peppercorns. Total waste of money and time. I would give 0 stars if that was an option.
