I'm using this product to send my iMac computer audio output to either my Sony MDR-7506 headphones or my Cambridge Soundworks powered desk stereo system with subwoofer. The first Nobsound unit I received generated mostly a lot of hum, but was promptly replaced via Walmart. The second unit is just ok. it works well with the headphones, where I need a lot of gain - i.e. the volume control is high. For the powered speakers, it's ok at high volume, but loses it at lower volumes, eventually giving out a signal on one channel only. My reference is a Big Knob selector/volume control in my music studio, which gives a balanced stereo volume control over the whole range, switching between headphones and powered monitors. Admittedly the Big Knob is more expensive, but is much more useful and satisfying.
