Works well although the backlight blew out almost immediately

Works well to control the mirrors and restore the passenger side up and down position on my 2001 Suburban 2500. Unfortunately, the LED backlight went out almost immediately. To remove the switch panel from the door panel, take a close look at the switch panel and you will see two slots on the underside that you can insert a flathead screwdriver into. Then pull up and out to detach the switch panel from the door panel. Many people complain that the mirror selector switch is stiff or not in the center position. That is not right. What they don't realize is that the new Switch is physically larger than the original Switch. So when you snap the switch, the selector gets stuck in the plastic hole and is difficult to move. Before snapping the switch into place on the bottom, turn it upside down and place it onto the switch plate from the top. You'll know right away if the selector is too big for the hole. The hole is just plastic. So if the switch is difficult to swing from side to side, you can use a small file, even a nail file or sanding board, to widen the hole until the switch moves freely. Once the switch is free to move, you can snap it into the plate below and you have the middle position.

Pros
  • Mirrors
Cons
  • Some bugs
