The metal hooks are fine, they hook the yarn well. Metal hooks are easy to read for sizing. Plastic hooks are a whole different story. The dimensions are barely visible, the hook does not grab the yarn. They would get a negative rating of -10 if I could. They smell like plastic. The smell is brutal. I can only hope that this doesn't make the yarn smelly. Although there are multiple colors of plastic hooks, there are repeat colors for different sizes. Spend a few bucks more, buy a readable kit, and grab some yarn. I really thought it would be nice to have. The only reason this set was rated a 3 is because of the metal hooks. Otherwise it would be minus 10.
