As others have noted, the remote control does not contain a battery. The battery size is hard to find in the US. However, you simply plug it into the wall to turn it on. I used it to get rid of the pet smell in our newly bought home. Apply according to the directions for 1 hour. When I re-entered the room to turn off the machine, the strong smell of ozone was almost unbearable. We ventilated the room for more than 12 hours. My wife is asthmatic and had trouble breathing. After researching the side effects of ozone, I realized that this machine was not suitable for our family. Some of our children also had breathing difficulties.
