I no longer use straight needles, but I needed a pair for one of my projects where the knitting material was wrapping around the cable of my circular needle making my project difficult to knit. I have bikes from 4 different brands, all with different cable types, and the problem happened to each one. So I decided to try a straight needle. I needed a longer one. It was perfect! The rest of the project was simply scaled up after that. And as a bonus, it's a nice pin too!
