I got this to replace my old USB-C hub which got very hot when connected to my Mac. This one worked and didn't overheat, but it didn't stay plugged in, so I sometimes had to reconfigure it while I was typing, or make sure it was plugged in enough and only disconnecting things I was touching or tapping on the laptop. Instead of my separate keyboard, I really didn't need much pressure to unzip. I don't know if it was because my laptop wasn't brand new anymore or if it was a hardware or molding defect, but either way it was annoying so I'm deducting a star.
