Review on Brooks Mens Levitate Running Shoe Sports & Fitness by Flavio Scarola

First Levite; definitely not my last

read many reviews before buying. I attack the forefoot and have had multiple problems with my feet since I was 40. The Brooks Ghost was my last pair of running shoes and they are more neutral in terms of impact and cushioning so toe pain hasn't improved much. Fit and feel upon receipt. The language is stupid. It's not a full tongue, it's sewn in at the very top, leaving little room to tuck your foot in. I have narrow feet with a high arch so it wasn't a problem. je. until now. Once you put your tongue back in your shoes, it will hardly be noticeable. What immediately catches the eye is the rear heel cup. Many reviewers noted the narrow heel cup and the odd placement of the strap around the top of the Achilles tendon. They are lower than most shoes, but so tight that they rub with every movement. I run long and the typical first 2 or 3 runs in shoes result in discomfort and blisters. If you're not ready for that, Levitate is likely to get bad reviews. I was ready and I can tell you that the compression feels great and the "warmth" of the contact point goes away after a few runs. The best part is that I can actually run more than once a week with Levitate. The forefoot pad is excellent. The stiffness of the spine is sufficient to prevent the arch loading that forefoot runners are familiar with. Overall, this is a great shoe for someone who hits the forefoot with the understanding that you'll need to break it in. It would be great if more interesting colors and patterns were available.
