Dead pixels, won't wake up, massive backlight halos

These aren't the problems I expect from a $3,000 monitor. I have about 3 dead pixels in the corner, but the dead pixel guideline (not to be confused with ZBD/Zero Bright Point) is 3-5+. The monitor often doesn't wake up after I turn on my computer. It doesn't matter if I unplug the DP cable or the power cord and plug it back in, it takes a few tries before it turns back on. I bought this monitor for both gaming (high frequency) and office (high resolution) thinking it would be good. for both. It's actually not bad for this kind of mixed use, but I keep having to go into the settings to toggle "Variable Lighting" on or off, because if you leave it on and use a dark-theme app, you have a huge amount of them mini LEDs. halos. That means the monitor is trying to highlight a pixel blob around the mouse or white text on a black screen and it looks pretty bad. When gaming, the variable backlight does not produce any unwanted artefacts. I've yet to determine how much it improves contrast, but black screens are noticeably dimmer than edge-lit monitors, so that's a good thing. The "OD" (overdrive) setting on "Extreme" also produces nasty effects when scrolling through a website. ". Normal, everything seems fine. White colors weren't very white out of the box, and the screen wasn't very bright. You should set "GameVisual" (why is it called that?) to something other than the default to get the right colors and brightness. It's getting really bright now - flashes of light in game sometimes blind me in real life. IPS are supposed to have good viewing angles, but white screens don't seem perfectly even from the edge to the edge, and the screen will too bright. dimmer even when looking from a 30 degree angle Not a big issue as I'm sitting in the middle but I don't see any advantage here Overall it looks pretty good in game but I expect perfection at this price point What the Screen display is concerned. Not a big deal. If you want to display your FPS, which I think is the only thing it will be useful for, you need to install "Armory Crate" (sic) but it doesn't tell you anything d over. But every few seconds he feels no need to display a distracting animation showing the ROG logo in the shape of an eye. The monitor stand is solid. It looks good. It's adjustable. But it's too big for my desk, so I replaced it with a monitor arm, which is a waste of time. Update: How can I give this monitor less than 1 star? It takes about half an hour to plug and unplug it for it to turn on. Not only is it useless, it's actively wasting my time now.
