Perfect for the 2005 Mazda 6 V6. It consists of a very flexible plastic, similar to children's rubber boots. It is not known how long this type of plastic will withstand the heat of the engine compartment. Another issue is whether the added flexibility of this type of problem will cause problems at high engine speeds when air is ingested at maximum force, which can create intake conditions that can lead to pipe rupture. The stock intake manifold was much stiffer and would not yield under such conditions. The time will show.
