the screw I used. This is a professional set of 3 countersink bits with a special "parabolic" cone specifically designed for #6, #8 and #10 wood screws. Photo 1 shows a set in a clamshell. Photo 2 of the package shows the included hex wrench and depth adjustment locking ring. The countersinks have 4 flutes (Fig 3) and can be adjusted on the bit to allow me to drill different length screws and there is a ring to limit the depth if I want to. These knurled countersinks have 2 opposing set screws to ensure the drill is centered at whatever height I choose. The drill has a flat surface to secure the countersink and prevent rotation. I appreciate that this set has an Allen key to install the countersink and collar. Drill size and countersink are marked and. This tapered drill makes them more brittle as the drill steel has little flexibility to provide hardness. Pic 4 shows a nice countersunk hole I drilled in a piece of chipboard attached to a 2x4. I screwed in an old long #10 2" screw with no problem because the tapered hole was just right. (pic 5) Nice, flush and tight! This bit set is perfect when I want to make holes suitable for #1 wood screws 6, 8 or 10 are properly recessed A tapered countersink like this helps prevent splitting of the wood and provides a strong anchor point I recommend this FTG Parabolic Groove Adjustable Wood Countersink Set in the USA Please note that this is in the Foreign made bits are but they work well and are reasonably priced I hope you found the information and my review helpful.
