Almost bought due to negative reviews. But this air pump works great. People who speak negatively don't understand how this is supposed to work. ONLY WORKS WITH BATTERIES. The cable is not intended for power supply, but as a sensor to detect power failures. The truth is not silent. But it's not very loud. Softer than normal conversation volume. But of course it has a moving membrane that vibrates to create air. The bladder stone is ok but not heavy enough to sink the air hose. I crazily taped a small rock to the channel and dropped it in the back of my balloon. The device only works when the entire tank is de-energized. You can test this with an extension cord. Plug in, turn off the power and turn on the batteries. I recommend this as a backup in case of a temporary power outage.
