Almost what I expected. I think most license plate cameras look cheesy. I soldered a hot wire and grounded it to my car's reverse light (so it only lights up when reversing). Installation was easy and took about 2 hours to install on my truck. Most of the time was spent laying the cable. I routed the cable through the factory braid for a professional look. Running the cable through my truck's firewall was the most time consuming part of the install (as I expected), wiring to my car stereo was easy too, I connected the camera to the appropriate connector and soldered the remaining wire to the purple " return" cable on my main unit. Camera quality is initially pretty good for a $30 device, parallel parking is less nerve wracking in a big car now that I can see exactly how much space I have. Wiring is fairly easy, but since the wires are very thin (>20 ga) I highly recommend soldering them in place rather than crimping or twisting the connectors. It may be best to leave this to a professional if you are unsure about this aspect of the installation. The so-called guides are ridiculous at best, written in broken English, and contain only the most basic schematics.
