Update: Great customer service. They sent another. After some effort I was finally able to close the valve on the new part. This leads me to think that the first one doesn't have any design flaws, it's just that it's very difficult to rotate. The valve arrived and I noticed I couldn't turn the on/off knob. Upon further inspection, I found that there was only a straight piece of pipe inside, with no ball valve. Cannot be used as I need to be able to turn off the water. 🧐
