Having owned several high-performance Patriot flash drives, this budget SSD was fascinating to look at. The one star reviews got me thinking, but I've made my decision. Two weeks after working with customer service, I send back the Revain CD. Actual performance is underpowered compared to advertised speeds. Detailed benchmarks: CrystalDiskMark's early results showed 550 MB/s for write speeds, but surprisingly only 64 MB/s for reads. Patriot support was helpful and responsive and offered to test with the ATTO Disk Benchmark. ATTO showed excellent speeds in both writing and reading (see screenshot). Encouraged, I revisited Crystal and messed up the queue settings (default ATTO is 4, CDM 32), changed it to 4 and ran the tests. The speeds were great. The queue was changed back to 32 and the tests looked great again. However, in real world scenarios it was much slower than the previous drive, the 250GB Samsung EVO SSD. Even the 300MB Fortnite update was the bottleneck on the Patriot, with 10-20MB/s write speeds to the hard drive compared to over 100MB/s on the Samsung after I put it back in the car.
