Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Bilstein B8 5100 Steering Damper for Enhanced Stability and Control by Brett Gilbert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The easiest part to replace is on the front and that makes a big difference.

I bought a 2006 F-350 4X4 with 232,000 miles and I think it was the stock steering damper. This truck has a lot of wobble and I know I have a lot of front end work to do, but installing this damper made the truck a lot more fun to drive. The steering wheel used to wobble back and forth during a hard stop, now that's completely eliminated. I think the truck will be a lot better after replacing all the wearing parts up front, but I was really impressed with the difference this small, easy to replace part made. Every other part of the front end uses giant (30mm etc.) metric bolts that require a ton of torque to loosen and tighten. It was no more difficult than replacing a shock and the largest bolt was 19mm.
