Review on Front Suspension Strut Mounts with Bearings for Mini Cooper 2002-2006 R50 R52 R53 (Left + Right) by Andrew Patel

Cheap cheap item! Soft rivets and won't last long!

Steel bracket is good. The rubber seems good. The sealed bearing is an improvement over the OEM open bearing. They fit well. But the bolts that go into the engine bay to attach the bracket to the body are terrible. They are super low quality. The torque specification for the nut is 25 ft-lbs. These cleats cannot support 25 foot pounds. If I had to do it again I would still buy these mounts because they are very good value for money but I would knock the bolts out of the original mount and use them in these replacement mounts. UPDATE: Don't waste your money! Three months and they are badly torn and need replacing. I go for cheap parts, but I'm really turned on by the fact that I have to pay for another setup.

Pros
  • Shocks, struts and suspension
Cons
  • Low repairability
