Review on Icom MBF5 Flush Mount Kit by Heather Davis
Access is key to installation
I installed my radio on a boat console in a location that made this kit very difficult to use. If you don't have easy access to a hidden mount, using this kit can be very difficult. The whole presumption of the kit is that you can quickly and easily access the back of the place where the radio is installed. Also, Icom should be ashamed of the outrageously high price tag for this most basic of kits. It should probably come with the radio as a mounting accessory, just like an external mounting bracket.
