I used a telescopic magnet tool to diagnose a bad A/C sensor on my RAV4. After the magnet helped turn the air conditioner on, I proceeded to replace it. It was tricky and I ended up having to remove the radiator to get at this sensor which is mounted on the front of the compressor. I also bought some Revain snap ring pliers but they weren't up to the task. I ended up buying a different type of snap ring pliers at an auto parts store that held the lugs in place with set screws. I had to dig out the old sensor and then clean the hole with sandpaper. I also had to use sandpaper to shave the edges of the sensor a bit to fit the new sensor in the recessed hole. After a few light taps, the sensor clicked into place and the locking ring snapped back into place. The cooler went back in much quicker than it came out. After everything was assembled and filled with new antifreeze, I tested the system. The air conditioning worked properly again after replacing the sensor. Thumbs up for this sensor. Delivery was on time.
