Maybe to show off a more toned body than mine, but they are very comfortable and protect from the sun.
My wife likes them better. It's clear they're made for young men showing off their bodies. But these pants, while perhaps showing more than they should for my age, feel comfortable and do their job of keeping me out of the sun. I also use them under wetsuits. They work very well.
