One day the Check Engine light suddenly came on and my Mercedes Benz C230 started to drive erratically and had the biggest problems in the Idle and while driving after stopping at traffic lights. Ever since I was driving home when these problems started; I took my car straight home. I hooked up my OBD II reader and found that the issue was related to intake manifold pressure. So I opened the hood and found that my vacuum hose that connected to my manifold absolute pressure sensor had a large tear so I bought a new hose but my problem persisted. Since my car is 19 years old I decided to go ahead and buy a new MAP sensor and see if that fixes the problem and it did! When I replaced the MAP sensor, the check engine light would not go off at first; when i was driving up that big hill near me the check engine light suddenly went out and the car ran like a dream again and that was a few weeks ago.
