Review on 📱 [Cuescreens] V2018+ Cadillac CUE Replacement Upgraded Touch Screen Display for 2018 and newer CUE Systems by Mike Wachtel

This review is for the V2018 CUE screen. After reading all the available literature and watching instructional videos, I found that my wife's 2015 Cadillac SRX is actually a replacement for the original. I'm glad I checked "2" or "8" before ordering. I had "8", which costs a little more. We bought this car used and I believe the previous owner may have sold it to the dealer with a broken touch screen and the dealer replaced the entire unit before putting it up for sale in 2018. Another clue came when I discovered that one of the console trim pieces had broken fasteners. By the way, removing these two pieces of console trim can be the most difficult part of this whole process. These parts are secured with two screws (7mm) hidden behind the console wall paneling/carpet. Removal to gain access to the two bolts of an intact pad was problematic due to the limited space as the seat doesn't offer much relief. I also had to pry off the two plastic screw covers that hide access to the two screws for the console storage box (that box doubles as an armrest) and lift them just enough to pry off the adjacent panel and gain access to those two pesky trim bolts. But I managed to get enough access to insert a small ratchet with a 7mm socket and remove it. The rest was all downhill. I bought the recommended tool set which turned out to be very handy. I should mention one more thing: when I received the new CUE screen, I removed the protective film(s) and examined it carefully under a bright light source. I found visible anomalies in the design of the transparent lens material. Couldn't delete them. I didn't want to be too aggressive with detergents. Most people wouldn't notice, but I've spent years inspecting microelectronic circuit boards for defects. Small and opaque, but they bothered me enough that I immediately ordered a replacement. A replacement came soon. It has been installed. The block is installed and works great!. The wife is delighted. And I'm thrilled that with just over a few hours of work I saved over $1,500.
