After reading many of these reviews I knew what to expect. This is a space heater, not a personal heater. The only thing I would like is for it to remember the settings I had last time. Instead, it always turns on at high power and the HI thermostat setting. Setting the thermostat to "HI" means that the thermostat is off and the heating runs continuously, no matter how hot the room is. Another change I would like is that the thermostat range starts below 65 degrees. I want it to go down to at least 50 degrees so you can use it to keep the room from getting cold instead of warming it up. One thing that helped was a small fan blowing in the general direction. Heating. This heater heats the room from top to bottom, so the room temperature can reach a much higher temperature than set by the thermostat because the thermostat measures the air temperature at floor level. I have two digital clocks with thermometers on a 4 foot high shelf just 5 feet apart and the heater reads 8-12 degrees colder than the clock. When I turn on the fan, the temperature on the heater rises about 10 degrees within a minute because the warmer air from above mixes with the colder air from below. I believe this phenomenon also occurs with many other heaters.
