. Wooden poles 8x8. I bought almost the entire set from 1/2" to 2" 1/2" and they are all designed to drill holes at least 16" deep. The drill I use is a monster with a 25 pound drill head. With those bits, the bedrock couldn't cope. For a T-post, I drilled a hole that was 2 1/2" in diameter and 16" deep. Depending on how hard the rock was, the whole thing took 1 to 5 minutes from start to finish. After drilling a few holes, I attempted to drill the fist of a pilot hole with a 1" drill bit. This drill cut through the rock and it was oil. Then I finished with a 2 1/2" bit. Not only did this reduce drilling time to a consistent minute or so per hole, but the 2 1/2" bit cut through the rock with ease. Wear, but always works still good and the smaller parts still look new (but used) I will test them in concrete and expect the same performance as long as I don't hit the rebar.
