Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Winco B001B4KUPY 3-Inch Dial Oven Thermometer: Accurate Temperature Tracking for Perfect Cooking by Kassie Gauthier

Revainrating 3 out of 5

for elderly like me with low vision

This rating is based on looks only. I did not take the thermometer out of the packaging as I will be sending it back. I expect it will work satisfactorily, but my main requirement for an oven thermometer is a large and easy to read face. It is described as having a 3-inch dial, but in fact the visible portion, excluding the sides of the case, is 2.5-inches. And for older people like me with low vision, too much unnecessary detail clutters the face. The bold numbers help, but if they were closer to the circle they would be easier to read. I ordered the Winco along with the Taylor Precision Products Classic Big Dial Thermometer -2-spons&keywords=Taylor+Precision+Products+Classic+Series+Large+Dial+Thermometer&psc=1) which is described as having a 3.5 inch dial . It's not that big either, but it's at least 0.25 inches larger than the Winco and the face is less cluttered. This makes the tool much more readable. I think it's worth the extra $1.50 I've photographed them side by side so you can judge for yourself.
