This balance beam was really fast and easy to assemble, even with two kids eagerly climbing all over the boxes/parts and asking if it was ready yet. You can raise and lower the height within seconds, and the base is wide enough to keep the beam steady, even when the bar is raised high. It's also really easy to fold up and store away. Because the base is so wide, and has so many points of contact to keep it level and steady, we have no concern with setting it up in our living room and letting the kids go at it. We did put a gym mat underneath, just in case, but no complaints with the actual bar.
