Review on 🔧 High-Quality MOOG K3128 Control Arm Bushing Kit for Enhanced Vehicle Performance by Scott King

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Very loose fit 10mm bolt through hub

These hubs come in a Moog box and are made in Mexico. The problem is that instead of a heavy gauge steel center sleeve they use a thinner walled rolled tube that has a larger ID than the original and then dimples are made on the inside of the tube (6 dimples, 3 at each end). presumably to ensure a sliding fit with minimal play of the 10mm mounting screw. However, the fit is very loose, which allows the pin to move radially within the sleeve. This can cause problems similar to a worn bushing if the control arm bolt is not held securely in the center of the bushing during braking and acceleration, especially in 4WD. I ended up using a locally purchased Moog K3166 hub set on my '91 XJ as they have a heavy center hub with a snug fit for a 10mm bolt and are made in Mexico by Clevite. I also looked at K3128 but they were made in Turkey so I doubt the quality. By the way K3166 for WJ.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
