I used this on Timbertech decking, it worked fine. Driver Bit they give you streaks easily so be careful. The big box gives you two, the small one gives you one. The only gripe is that sometimes the joints don't meet exactly in the middle of the joist so the clamp is a little tight to grip both boards. In some cases I had to invent something to twist both ends of the connection. Also, be careful not to over-tighten; On a warm day, composite decking can become quite soft. My joists were 4x6 so I had to snap off the plastic and carefully insert them into the boards that made contact with the joist, it wasn't too difficult.
