This cord did what it says on the tin - it replaced a broken cord for my patio umbrella. It's narrower than my old one, but the material seems stronger. I think it will last at least a couple of years with normal use. But the task of changing the cable turned out to be more difficult than I thought. I replaced the top with a reel and tried to fish down the handle but that proved impossible with the tilted canopy. The cable kept getting caught in the tilt mechanism. After several attempts, I decided it would be easier to start with an oblique joint. Starting at the seam, I tilted the umbrella to its maximum angle and pulled one end of the cord through the top and the other end through the bottom. It was a lot easier. I guess I didn't watch enough YouTube videos to fix the problem.
