Use an old o-ring if a new one will not install properly.

This part is relatively easy to install yourself. When installing the part I encountered some resistance from the included o-ring. After several attempts to install the ring, I finally found that it's a bit thicker than the old one and I can't use it. I had no problem installing the new part with the old o-ring. The retaining ring MUST be installed correctly or the part will accidentally snap off.
