This is the best food slicer I've ever tried for even slices. However, I agree with others who say it seems cheap and far-fetched. They get away with it because unlike most bread slicers, they mount the guides on top, making them more stable, and the guides are large enough for the knife blade so there isn't a huge slip factor when slicing the bread. If they made a "premium" version out of more durable plastic, I think it would sell well. Another thing I like is the folding feature so it takes up very little storage space. It's a very well thought out design, a little more power and it will make the perfect bread slicer. For added value, it would be nice to have something to hold the bread on the cut side, and a non-slip pad would prevent it from sliding around as much as you cut it. These are minor quibbles as I think these issues can be resolved with more experience.
